DELTING V BANKS

One of the earliest cuttings I have. Dating from 1983 - the first year Delting won the Viking Challenge Cup.

POLICE V BANKS

This is the oldest cutting I have.  The first match from the 1983 season. The match was played at Sandwick. Police and Banks had many a battle in the early to mid Eighties and it was always a sweet moment to get one over on the team to be later renamed the 'Pumas'

BANKS V POST OFFICE

Probably from around 1984.  From my recollection, the Post Office team was relatively short lived.  Couple of points to note   1)the 'Stan Woods' quoted in the cutting should be Stan Semple   2) Lawson Bisset, scorer for Post Office is now an integral part of today's Banks' defence - need we say more!  

BANKS V SCALLOWAY LEGION

Either 1985 or 1986.  Legion were a formidable force in the last 4 years of the Viking League, winning the title on 3 occasions.  Strangely enough, they never won the cup. 

BANKS V THISTLE B

26th July 1987. Banks' first season in the B League after the amalgamation of the Viking League and Shetland Football Association.  Holding their own against the 'big boys'.

WHITEDALE B V BANKS

2nd August 1987. Another gutsy performance against the 1986 Madrid Cup Winners 2nd string.
